You recommend a product on Amazon. Someone buys it through your link. Amazon pays you a cut.
That's it. That's the whole thing. You don't ship anything. You don't handle returns. You don't talk to customers. Amazon does all of that. You just share a link.
The commission is usually 1-10% depending on the product category. Books, beauty, fashion pay more. Electronics pay less. But it all adds up — especially if you recommend things you actually use.

Click "Join Now for Free" — it costs nothing, ever.
Fill in your details. They'll ask for your website or social media. A Facebook page, Instagram, YouTube channel, or blog all work. Even a TikTok account.
Choose your "Store ID" — this becomes your affiliate tag (like yourname-21). Pick something you'll remember.
Done. You're an Amazon affiliate. Took about 5 minutes.
Go to Amazon. Find a product you actually use and recommend.
Use the SiteStripe bar at the top of the page (it appears after you've signed into your affiliate account). Click "Get Link" → "Short Link". Copy it.
Or manually: take any Amazon product URL and add ?tag=yourtag-21 to the end.
That's your affiliate link. Anyone who clicks it and buys ANYTHING on Amazon within 24 hours earns you a commission. Not just the product you linked — anything they buy.
Social media: "Just got this and it's brilliant" + your link. Genuine recommendations. Not spam.
Your website or blog: Write about what you use. Link to it on Amazon. Simple.
YouTube descriptions: Every video, list the gear/products you mention with affiliate links.
WhatsApp/messages: When someone asks "where did you get that?" send them your affiliate link instead of a regular one.

The Golden Rule
Only recommend things you actually use or genuinely believe in. People can smell fake recommendations a mile off. Be honest, and the money follows.
Commission rates: 1-10% depending on category. Books are about 5%. Fashion up to 10%. Electronics around 1-3%.
24-hour cookie: When someone clicks your link, anything they buy on Amazon in the next 24 hours counts. They clicked for a book but also bought a TV? You get commission on both.
Payment: Amazon pays around 60 days after the end of the month. So January earnings arrive end of March. By bank transfer or Amazon gift card.
Minimum payout: £25 (UK) or $10 (US) before they send it.
Real Talk
You won't get rich overnight. But if you consistently share genuine recommendations, it builds. People who do this properly make £50-£500/month. Some make much more. It's passive income that grows over time.
Spamming links nobody asked for.
